Terms of Use

Last updated: June 6, 2026

These terms govern your use of MacSweep, the MacSweep website, and MacSweep license keys. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use MacSweep.

Use at Your Own Risk

MacSweep is a local disk cleanup utility. It can identify files, caches, logs, Docker resources, application leftovers, browser data, Trash contents, temporary files, and other local data that may be eligible for cleanup. You are responsible for reviewing every selected item before confirming cleanup.

MacSweep uses a review-first cleanup model, but no cleanup tool can determine the value of every file in every user's workflow. You are responsible for keeping current backups of important files before using MacSweep.

Deletion and Cleanup Behavior

Where macOS supports it, selected file cleanup moves files to Trash. Trash and temporary-folder cleanup may clear directory contents. Docker cleanup uses Docker APIs. Some actions may be difficult or impossible to reverse, especially if you empty Trash, remove Docker resources, clear temporary directories, or delete data outside normal Finder recovery paths.

By confirming a cleanup action, you authorize MacSweep to perform that action on the selected items. MacSweep is not responsible for files, data, project artifacts, containers, volumes, logs, browser data, or other content that you select and confirm for cleanup.

No Professional Advice

MacSweep labels items to help you review cleanup candidates. These labels are informational only. They are not a guarantee that a file is unnecessary, safe to remove, or recoverable.

Licenses and Purchases

MacSweep has a Free tier plus Advanced and Pro one-time purchases. Advanced and Pro licenses are per person and may be used on your own personal Macs. Licenses may not be resold, shared publicly, posted online, or used to provide MacSweep access to unrelated third parties.

Advanced and Pro are separate purchases. There is no upgrade credit from Advanced to Pro unless MacSweep states otherwise in writing.

Updates and Compatibility

MacSweep currently requires macOS 14 Sonoma or later. Features, operating-system compatibility, cleanup categories, and license behavior may change as MacSweep evolves. A one-time purchase is not a promise that every future major version or future feature will be included for free.

Refunds

Refund requests are handled under the MacSweep Refund Policy and the rules of the payment processor used for your purchase. See Refund Policy.

Warranty Disclaimer

MacSweep is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. MacSweep does not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, compatible with every system configuration, or able to detect every cleanup candidate accurately.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MacSweep and its owner are not liable for lost files, lost data, lost profits, business interruption, lost projects, lost containers or volumes, loss of goodwill, or indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from your use of MacSweep.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MacSweep's total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the MacSweep license that gave rise to the claim.
